Milpitas City mayor Jose Esteves will grace on Oct.2 GSCC’s 6th founding anniversary with the theme “Living a Spirit-filled Life.” The mayor, a friend of GSCC who has consistently supported its search for and acquisition of its own building and the only city executive who has opened the city hall among church leaders for prayer services, will confer GSCC a certificate felicitating the congregation for having successfully completed its 6th years of existence.
The special Sunday service marking the event will include a message from Pastor Oyette Fernando on how GSCC leaders and members have single mindedly sought the Wisdom of God which has guided the church during its most difficult years. Focused on the anniversary theme, testimonies from selected members will be given on the topics “How I Came to Know the Lord and How the Experience Transformed my Life” and “How the Lord Led Me to GSCC and How God Is Using the Church as a Channel of Blessings and Spiritual Maturity.”
GSCC’s 6th anniversary comes at the most exciting phase in its young existence when its about to move to its own place of worship –the realization of a goal the church has sought diligently with the guidance of God’s wisdom and as an act of faith among believers.
Special numbers shall be rendered by the GSCC Choir, 18 Thoughts, Children’s Handbells, and J-YA/J-Youth Band. A video presentation will feature the GSCC men and women who have publicly professed the Christian faith through baptism of water through the years. Perhaps the last anniversary GSCC will observed at its gathering hall rented from Life Gate, the event will conclude with a sumptuous lunch prepared by the members themselves.
