The group 18 Thoughts is an all girls band that was birthed from Good Shepherd Community Church. Out of their will and determination to play music and share the word of God. Jaimee, Aleeza, Clarisse, Sarina, Daisee, Jenna, Camille, Celeste and Giselle decided to form 18 Thoughts about two years ago. These girls’ ages ranges from 8 thru 13 years old! People often ask why pick 18 Thoughts as their name. They explained that some girls liked the number 10, some liked the number 8 and one of them fancies the word “thoughts”…so why not just put it all together! It’s really amazing to see how well they all work together.
Their music is a Christian pop rock genre which is a really good niche for kids their age. Initially, they started learning on their own and playing cover songs until they discovered that they can write and produce their own songs. So, earlier this year, 18 Thoughts along with Pam Fernando (their mentor and coach) decided they wanted to cut a CD and complete it by summer’s end. The girls really worked hard writing their own lyrics and music. Pam came up with a couple of original songs for the girls as well.
This whole summer, the girls were real busy recording their six original songs. It is truly amazing what they had accomplished at such a young age and in so little time. They’re continuously learn how to fellowship with one another, discipline themselves, respect, manage time, communicate effectively, and mostly how to connect with other children about loving God.
They had already performed at the Adobo Festival in Sacramento last August and did an awesome job. So what’s in store for these 9 young talented girls? As parents, we have big dreams and aspirations for them but we know that God has far better and bigger plans for them. We’ll just have to wait and see!
On Oct. 23, 2010, 18 Thoughts would like to invite everyone to their first concert. They will be having their CD Release Concert which is in full planning stage right at this moment! Their goal is to give the audience a really good show and be a blessing to everyone who will hear their music. For more info please visit, www.18Thoughts.com
